The Estate
Located in the place called La Roche à vent, the Domaine Roche Loire is a former Closerie built in the 14th century, then incorporated into the Saint-Maur estate four centuries later.
Composed of several buildings, this an old farmhouse steeped in history, has since been renovated to welcome our guests in the best conditions.
Take advantage of the quiet in the park and the one hectare forest of the domain. À on foot or by bike, take a walk in the Baure wood on the edge of the property, discover the menhir of the Long Stone or escape for a while jogging morning in the middle of nature.
Ideally located in the heart of the wonders of the Loire Valley, property is a excellent starting point for visit the region. You will be at 2 km from the route of the Loire by bike, from village of Le Thoureil, of theAbbey of Saint-Maur and its vineyard.

Who are we?
The story begins with John and Patricia Hargreave, who brought the place back to life for several years.
During a visit in 2022, seduced by the soul and beauty of the place, we wanted to take up the torch. Between the Loire and the many rocks that give its park its originality, the Domaine was naturally renamed: welcome to Roche Loire!
We warmly welcome you all year round in our paradise. We love receive, exchange and share with our guests in all simplicity.
Our aim is to make you feel at home with us. We are available for make your stay easier and make it as pleasant as possible (restaurant reservations, advice on visits, etc.).

Roche Loire is ideally located between Angers and Saumur, near the charming village of Le Thoureil. On the south bank of the Loire, you will appreciate the traditional boats and the beautiful tufa houses of this village between river and hillsides.
Le Thoureil has a rich historical and architectural heritage which has earned it the Small City of Character. It is an emblematic Loire landscape of the Loire Valley listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the heart of the Loire Valley, the region offers you many possibilities: Visits to châteaux, from troglodytes, walking tours or to bike, amusement park, zoo, visits to vineyards and many other activities.
